Impressed? I am writing again all ready and it has not been months.
Anyway....
I am frustrated with the school system and am wishing now that I just had gone ahead and home schooled. If only I could afford the university model school in Sugarland. Rebecca got an N for a daily grade in gym today. I realize it is just gym but still. Why did she get an N? Was it because she did not participate? Nope, it was because while trying to run a half mile in 10 minutes she fell and scraped up her knee and went back to the start to show her teacher and thus started from the beginning again only the time did not restart so she only technically completed three laps in 10 minutes so they gave her a N and sent home a prey harsh letter saying how she could not complete something that was so easy. Talk about a self esteem buster. To top it off apparently they have a book where if you misbehave and they speak to you twice the third time you have to sign this book. I guess acknowledging you misbehaved or something. Well, because she was unable to finish her 4 laps they made her sign the book. S, not only was she given a N a if she did not do what she was supposed to but she was also lumped with the "bad" kids. I am not a happy mom right now and am still trying to figure out ow to approach this.
Then I am having issues getting her ready for school in the morning. She cries that she does not want to go to school, she does not like school, etc. I have had to threaten to leave with her still in jammies, physically chase her after she has ran back in the house, and physically get her out of the car once at school. It is getting worse. I think she is bored at school. They learn a new letter each week (something she already knows) but also for each letter they do the same exact worksheets. So essentially she is doing the same work every week. Even I am sick of looking at it. The teacher has said I could send work in that I want her to do. But I guess I do not feel like it is my responsibility to do this. Plus I do not want Rebecca to resent me. I think the work should come from her teacher. If I am going to send the work in I mine as well just home school her. I do love her teacher but I guess I just want her more challenged. And it does not help that I am so non-confrontational. This is so hard for me.

Another Update.....
Well, so much for being more current and blogging more. Ahh, the joys of a busy life.
It was not too long after my last post that we had yet another chin accident. This time it was Zachary. I joked that the hospital was going to call CPS on me for the same cut in the same place as my other kid just a few weeks apart. Anyway, this time I was trying to get the kids packed to leave to go camping. Zachary was exhausted as it was way past bedtime. Anyway, I had him sitting on the end of Rebecca's bed. He went to climb off onto her step stool that we keep by her bed and it had been moved out just a bit. He fell off the bed between the bed and the step stool and his chin hit the step stool and cut open. Long story short he ended up with 5 stitches and no swimming. Oh no! We had a camping trip out in the dirty and heat as well as a trip to Sea World where there is obviously a lot of water including a water park area. We let him go in the water with a waterproof bandage on. Poor guy. He did so good!!
What else has occurred?
Well, my little girl has started kindergarten! It was a tough decision to send her as we were really leaning toward homeschooling. She is just so far ahead of the K curriculum. But we decided to go ahead and try it out. Luckily we got a fabulous teacher. She had Rebecca tested the first week of school to determine what reading level she is on. 2nd grade. Rebecca seems to enjoy school. She is bored with the work at times but overall enjoys it.
She also is finally old enough to be in KFC (Kids For Christ). The format has changed this year and it is weekly instead of every other week. And we are doing a new program - "Bible Skills, Drills and Thrills". I offered to help and ended up being put in a position to teach the K-2nd grade. It is a lot of work especially prep work but Rebecca is happy I am teaching.
I am also still teaching Sunday School but have been moved to the Toddlers where they were in desperate need of a teacher. I also help out as much as I can at Rebecca's school. I read to the class on some Fridays. I help out in the workroom and basically volunteer for what I can with Zachary.
Rebecca also has started soccer. She does really well. Several times during games she has taken the ball all the way down the field. We need to work on her kicking it hard to make a goal. But she does well and really hustles.
She is also doing dance still. This year she was asked to be in an invitation only class. She goes two days a week. On Wednesdays she does an hour of jazz and and an hour of ballet. Then on Thursdays she does an hour of tap. So that keeps her very busy.
She also has joined Girl Scouts this year. She is a Daisy. Right now we will meet once a month then starting in January we will meet twice a month.
Oh boy, so much going on.
Got to run and finish getting ready for KFC.
